Kumaran Kundru: Where Blessings Echo Through Time

Nestled to the south of the Mettupalayam-Annur road lies a place steeped in the sacred vibrations of enlightened souls from a bygone era. Kumaran Kundru, once a grazing ground for cattle, holds a profound spiritual legacy.

In the days of yore, as young boys played amidst this pastoral landscape, they stumbled upon a damaged idol, a celestial discovery that would change the destiny of this land. Recognizing the divine significance of their find, the elders of the community took action. They erected a humble temple, initiating the worship of the newly discovered idol.

However, mindful of adhering to the Agama rules that govern religious practices, they crafted a new idol to replace the damaged one. This new idol depicted Lord Muruga, resplendent with His consorts Valli and Deivanai. With each passing day, the temple grew in stature, drawing a multitude of devoted pilgrims from far and wide.

Over time, this sacred place became known as Kumaran Kundru, aptly translated as “The hill of Lord Muruga.” Today, it stands not only as a testament to the enduring faith of the community but also as a beacon of spiritual solace, where the blessings of enlightened souls continue to resonate through the ages.
